A NEW Course promoting Mental & Emotional Health through Nature.

The Mary Frances Trust is the mental health and emotional wellbeing charity for adults (16+) in Surrey. Through courses, workshops and online services the Trust provides vital support to communities across Surrey. The KGV has partnered with MFT to provide innovative new courses to support residents seeking to improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Nature Nurture – The 5 Senses

Research shows that a greater connection with nature can make us happier! This NEW course will focus on the delights of autumn in our natural environment, looking at what is happening in nature in the autumn and using our senses to boost our wellbeing.

It will include a mixture of time exploring outside, related nature-based activities inside and time for coffee and a chat.

The course is offered at the King George V Hall by Mary Frances Trust, a local charity offering support for emotional and mental wellbeing.

The five-week course will be structured around the five senses: sight, sound, touch, taste and smell.

Session structure:

10-10.15          Introduction to the course

10.15 -11         Time outside using ‘sense of the week’

11-11.55          Coffee and Activity inside or outside depending on weather and activity

11.50 -12         Ending with a short relaxation/mindfulness exercise NEW
