The Board of Trustees normally holds the AGM for Effingham Village Recreation Trust in June or July, in accordance with the charity scheme. This year, given the difficulty of holding public meetings, the Charity Commission has given blanket permission for charities to delay their AGMs until later in the year. We have tentatively planned to hold the EVRT AGM in October, but this is not confirmed and may change.
The AGM is an occasion for the beneficiaries of the charity, which is to say residents of Effingham and the immediately adjacent neighbourhood. The Chair of the Board of Trustees presents a report on the Charity’s activities for the preceding year (ie April 2019 to end March 2020), and the Treasurer presents the Financial Statements. Residents can also ask questions.
