Grants from Effingham Parish Council’s Community Fund and Guildford Borough Council’s Concurrent Grant Aid Fund enabled a new addition in 2020 to the facilities for all at KGV.
A series of English oak marker posts leads one round a 1km or 2km measured circuit taking in a wide variety of settings – green open spaces, paths and woodland. Families, joggers and walkers can all take pleasure from following the circuits at their own pace while contributing to their health and fitness.
The circuits were created very economically by simply joining up existing paths, creating interesting and varied journeys passing over a mixture of grassed park, hardened path surfaces and tracks. The appearance and presentation is relaxed and suitably rustic in keeping with the mood of these rural grounds, not high-spec requiring ongoing heavy-duty maintenance. All of the items were produced locally by Norbury Wood Products.
The start/finish point is at a noticeboard beside the southern side of the Hall, pictured opposite.
